Job Summary

Scientific Applications & Research Associates (SARA), Inc. is a world-class defense research and development enterprise seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Artificial Perception Threat Awareness (APTA) division, you will play a critical role in transitioning safety-critical sensor processing to a cloud-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain backend software applications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years' experience creating distributed software applications
  • Ability to use C/C++, Python, and GIT
  • Ability to create software designs, test software, and document results
  • Ability to create and implement cloud native architectures in AWS and/or Azure
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • US Citizenship required
  • May require light physical effort, involving standing, sitting, and use of hands while performing duties, carrying or lifting up to 10 pounds
  • Working environment is indoor, moderately quiet, reasonably clean, well-lighted, and well-ventilated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • 10+ years' experience creating distributed software applications
  • Experience with IoT development and ISO 30141
  • Experience creating applications certified to RTCA DO-178C and RTCA DO-254
  • Ability to program in Matlab, LabVIEW, Julia, and VHDL
  • Active DoD security clearance

Salary Range

$125,000 - $150,000
