Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teacher Effectiveness Coach to join our team at Henry County Schools. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction and support to teachers, ensuring their success and ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver targeted professional learning opportunities for new and experienced teachers.
  • Work with teacher supervisors to develop and monitor professional learning programs.
  • Prioritize time with new teachers, but also provide support to veteran teachers in need of classroom behavior management techniques.
  • Collaborate with HR Coordinator on Educator Launch.
  • Meet with new teachers throughout the month to provide guidance and support.
  • Conduct preliminary TKES discussions to prepare new teachers for formal observations.
  • Model lessons and provide specific targeted feedback to new teachers.
  • Engage in coaching teachers and their mentors on topics such as routines, procedures, consistency, management of student behavior, organization, and teacher growth.
  • Analyze student work with new teachers.
  • Accompany new teachers on visits to other classrooms.
  • Respect the confidentiality of the mentor-new teacher relationship.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform program adjustments.
  • Develop and facilitate a Classroom Behavior Management course in collaboration with various departments within the district.
Requirements
  • Hold or be eligible for a minimum of T-4 (Bachelor's Level) Georgia Educator Certificate in Elementary Education, Middle Grades, or Secondary or meet the District's Professional Qualifications.
  • Coaching, Teacher Support and Coaching, or Teacher Leader Endorsement, preferred.
  • Minimum of five years successful teaching experience.
  • Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  • Ability to be present at the physical work site.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
