Role Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Specialist will operate under the guidance of the Manager/In-Charge Technologist and Medical Director, executing a range of technical procedures that necessitate a high level of independent judgment and initiative in utilizing radionuclides for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in patients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide patient care during clinical procedures.
2. Confirm patient identity through two identifiers and review procedure orders.
3. Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
4. Gather relevant patient history and check for procedural contradictions.
5. Operate auxiliary equipment necessary for procedures.
6. Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
7. Prepare patients for procedures.
8. Select and administer the appropriate radionuclide/medication via the correct route and dosage.
9. Prepare instruments, computers, and imaging protocols as per departmental guidelines.
10. Implement ALARA principles in clinical duties.
11. Evaluate image quality and perform additional views as necessary.
12. Process and assess computer-generated data.
13. Collect samples for non-imaging studies.
14. Administer interventional pharmacologic agents as per protocol.
15. Maintain sterile techniques as required.

Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program.
- At least 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine.

Certifications:
- ARRT(N) or NMTCB registry.
- ARRT (CT).
- CPR and ARRT(N) registered and/or NMTCB registered.
- SCRQSA License.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Preferred ARRT in Radiology.
- Experience with Philips equipment is a plus.
- Required Spect/CT experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of office equipment.
- Proficient in database management and data entry.
- Strong mathematical skills and a solid foundation in physics/chemistry.
- Familiarity with radiation safety equipment.
