Director of Research

The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly skilled Director of Research to join our team. As a key member of our public policy functions, you will provide in-depth research and data analysis to support our policy agenda.
Responsibilities- Manage research projects with minimal supervision, drafting detailed reports and publications.
- Conduct data-driven research to inform our public policy efforts, anticipating and addressing responses and reactions.
- Develop compelling, persuasive materials to support our policy positions, presenting work to internal and external audiences.
- Represent the Chamber at meetings with members, partners, and policymakers, managing two of our leadership councils.
- Complete ad hoc requests for research and data support, acting as a leading influence on Chamber culture.
- Develop relationships with Chamber members, subject matter experts, and other business associations, performing general administrative duties as assigned.
- Ability to make decisions without supervision, understanding when to elevate decisions.
- Willingness to meet high standards for accuracy and attention to detail, with experience in data analytics software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze complex research and public policy areas.
- Willingness to work in a team environment, sharing information broadly with colleagues.
- Advanced degree in data analytics, public policy, or a similar field, with 3-7 years of experience in a public policy or analysis role.
- Ability to manage relationships and projects with multiple internal and external constituencies, prioritizing across competing objectives and timelines.
- Strong business ethics and values, with experience reviewing state legislation and budgets, municipal ordinances, and agency regulations.
