Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for processing payroll, including payroll for active employees and retirees. You will also be responsible for creating final paychecks for terminating employees, posting payroll results to the general ledger, and providing client support to employees and retirees with questions about their paychecks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for active employees and retirees, including regular payroll and final paychecks for terminating employees.
  • Post payroll results to the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Provide client support to employees and retirees with payroll-related questions and concerns.
  • Detect and correct erroneous postings and prepare documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data.
  • Review lists of rejected transactions, research and determine reasons for rejection, and prepare correcting materials.
  • Follow Company and organizational policies and procedures in posting and reconciling journal entries.
  • Provide research and support as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll-related policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and determine variances and resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels of an organization and work as a member of a team.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers and applications, including databases, accounting systems, and spreadsheet applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a decision-making capacity with workflow, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Understanding of payroll processing and banking.
  • Knowledge of the electric utility industry and IT operating processes.
