Job Summary

The HPC group at AWS is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a team in building high performance computing products and services.

This role involves leading engineers to tackle core software engineering problems, working with a variety of AWS cloud technologies, and making a significant impact on external and internal customers through engaging and challenging work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers to design and develop high performance computing products and services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize software engineering problems
  • Develop and implement software engineering best practices and standards
  • Partner with product management teams to define product roadmaps and requirements
  • Recruit, hire, and mentor software engineers to build a high-performing team

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience leading engineering teams
  • 7 years of experience working directly within engineering teams
  • 3 years of experience designing or architecting systems
  • 8 years of experience leading the development of multi-tier web services
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and mentoring teams of software engineers
