Position Overview:

As a key player in the Personal Lines Underwriting division, you will be responsible for nurturing talent and driving essential outcomes to ensure sound decision-making and support both revenue growth and profitability objectives. Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide team members to apply a blend of analytical skills, experience, and underwriting techniques to make informed and timely decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
  • Oversee service level objectives and risk quality assessments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address challenges and promote a cooperative team environment.
  • Encourage a culture of active listening, team cohesion, and open dialogue to enhance employee engagement.
  • Lead initiatives focused on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of compliance through audits, training, and system checks.
  • Engage in performance management through ongoing discussions and development opportunities for associates.

  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives for the Personal Lines Underwriting sector.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience and Qualifications:

For the Personal Lines Underwriting Manager role:
  • Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience.
  • Preferred: At least 2 years of supervisory experience in an exempt role, ideally within underwriting.
For the Personal Lines Underwriting Director role:
  • Minimum of 10 years of underwriting experience.
  • Preferred: At least 5 years of supervisory experience in an exempt role, ideally within underwriting.
Education and Certifications:

A Bachelor's Degree, along with supervisory certification, CPCU, or other relevant industry designations.
