About the Role

Cincinnati Insurance Company, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team. As an underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating risks and making informed decisions to protect our customers' assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer an assigned renewal book of business by underwriting and processing renewals, ensuring adequate pricing and adherence to company underwriting standards and philosophy.
  • Assist the portfolio team with distribution of work tasks and communicate directly with agencies to gather information.
  • Research and gather information about coverage questions, state issues, and workflows, referring to an underwriter or team leader when necessary.
  • Meet department service level agreements for renewal and endorsement issuance, responding to inquiries in a timely manner and effectively researching and working to solve problems for internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Able to learn and develop knowledge and skills to evaluate risks that include property, general liability, auto, and umbrella.
  • Knowledge of the Commercial Lines Manual and all pertinent systems.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with team members and agents by working to find possible solutions that are beneficial to all.
  • Skilled use of verbal communication to explain, negotiate, and present information and an understanding of when to use verbal or written communication.
  • Strives for success while balancing multiple tasks and accounts.
  • Ability to provide appropriate level of detail and quality.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify possible solutions and take appropriate action.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of insurance-related work experience; Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designation preferred.
