Candidate Profile:

The Production Engineering Paint Department is in search of a skilled and enthusiastic VWF Engineer focused on the development of resin components and jig systems.

The main objective of this role is to create designs for bumper and body jigs used in painting operations, ensuring that safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness align with established design specifications.

Reporting to the SE Manager, this position will play a vital role in the Paint Department's mission to innovate bumper jigs and analyze resin structures for all new vehicle models.

Key Responsibilities:


• Design and develop bumper jigs, collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing sites to oversee jig quality, budget adherence, and feedback integration.


• Utilize CAE programs to enhance jig design and cleaning processes, applying Toyota Manufacturing Principles.


• Ensure resin components comply with client standards and relay insights to design teams.


• Generate reports to confirm that resin structures and jigs fulfill all quality, efficiency, and cost requirements.


• Collaborate with various PE and external teams to unify programming needs.


• Conduct on-site trials to validate actual outcomes against planned expectations.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of one year of experience in plastics, painting, or a related field.


• Advanced knowledge and experience with CAE tools.


• Proven experience in developing and designing weld check fixtures.


• Proficiency in Catia V5 and Hypermesh CAE simulation software.


• Willingness to travel across North America, including Mexico, Canada, and Japan.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Experience in rapid prototyping and check fixture design.


• Background in working with suppliers to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
