Job Summary

The Production Engineering Paint Department at Global Technology Associates is seeking a highly motivated VWF/CAE Engineer for Resin Parts and Jig Development. The primary responsibility of this role is to design bumper/body jigs for the painting processes and confirm that safety, quality, productivity, and cost all meet design targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop bumper jigs for the painting processes
  • Manage jig quality, budget, and feedback from the manufacturing site
  • Improve jig design and cleaning processes using CAE programs and manufacturing principles
  • Develop resin parts that meet all standards and provide feedback to design groups
  • Report on resin parts structure and jigs meeting quality, productivity, and cost criteria to PE and external groups
  • Conduct online trials on the production floor to confirm actual results vs planned

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline and 1 plus year in plastics/paint or related field
  • High Level Experience and knowledge of CAE
  • Experience developing and designing weld check fixtures
  • High Level Experience with Catia V5 and Hypermesh CAE simulation software
  • Ability to Travel within North America including Mexico and Canada and Japan

Bonus Requirements
  • Experience with Rapid Prototyping and check fixture design
  • Experience working with suppliers to maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality milestones
