Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neuro/Ortho team at Ascension Borgess in Kalamazoo, MI. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to care.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to develop and implement individualized care plans that address their unique needs and goals.
  • Participate in open discussion with the healthcare team to identify mutual goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Assess, detect, monitor, and attempt to prevent complications associated with health situations or treatment plans.
  • Notify the physician of patient condition and response to nursing intervention, and document this action.
  • Ensure that patients' pain is assessed, treated, reassessed, documented, and evaluated, and adhere to policies and procedures for pain management.
  • Delegate tasks to other licensed and unlicensed care providers based on clinical nursing judgment and the skill level of the care provider.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or RN Diploma, with a BSN required within 6 years of start date.
