Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Education Manager to join our team at Save the Children. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the education and disability services within our programs, guiding curriculum development, policy implementation, and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate systems for the delivery of education services, including screening, curriculum planning, individualization, and assessment for children and families.
  • Disability Services: Develop, implement, and evaluate systems to recruit, identify, diagnose, and provide services to children with disabilities and their families.
  • Program Improvement: Contribute to program improvement through evaluation, self-assessment, and other program development efforts.
  • Training and Technical Assistance: Provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to staff, parents, and volunteers.
  • Classroom Monitoring: Monitor classroom practices, including room arrangement, lesson plans, daily schedules, routines, and transitions, to ensure adherence to program policies.
  • IEP and IFSP Management: Ensure that Individualized Education Program (IEP) and/or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals and other disability service records are complete and current.
  • Education Budgeting: Assist in developing and monitoring education budgets.
  • Resource Management: Develop, allocate, and manage resources to maximize program effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work cooperatively with staff to integrate education and disability services with health, nutrition, parent engagement, and family services.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records to ensure the program is compliant with regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards.
  • Communication: Interact with parents and staff to discuss educational activities, child progress, program policies, and children's behavioral or learning challenges.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in early childhood education, including experience teaching preschool-aged children.
  • Skills: Proven knowledge of early childhood development and safety issues, methods for communicating effectively with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, parents, and other staff, and basic fiscal accountability.
  • Professional Qualities: Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and evaluation, communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, and problem-solve and time-manage effectively.
