Learning Support Specialist

Davenport Community Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Specialist to join our team at Wood Jr High.
This is a full-time position working 7.25 hours per day with an estimated salary of $15,600 per year.
About the Role:The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to assist students in achieving academic success.
They will also teach, model, and support Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in all building situations.
Main Responsibilities:- Collaborate with teachers to create a positive learning environment and structured setting
- Assist with instruction and provide support to students as needed
- Monitor student progress and maintain necessary records
- Communicate with instructional staff daily regarding instruction and student issues
- Walk hallways during class time and report any issues to office staff
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of MTSS and PBIS principles
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to walk for extended periods
- Able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs
