Job Summary

Russell Tobin & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Tax Coordinator to join our team. As a Payroll Tax Coordinator, you will be responsible for handling various payroll tax-related tasks, including account registrations, reconciliations, tax tracers, and communications with taxing authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Registration and Reconciliation: Complete and submit new account registration forms to taxing jurisdictions, and prepare and reconcile payroll monthly tax impound journal entries.
  • Tax Tracers and Communications: Handle escalated tax tracers and communicate with taxing authorities to resolve account issues.
  • Year-End Reconciliations: Perform all year-end reconciliations to ensure Wage Statements and tax filings are accurate.
  • Payroll General Ledger Reconciliations: Assist with the reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • State Account Management: Follow up on newly applied-for state accounts and update third-party vendors with new account information.
  • Quarterly Tax Reconciliations: Perform periodic and quarterly tax reconciliations to ensure tax filings are correct.
  • Tax Account Audits: Audit tax accounts for activity and coordinate with the Payroll Tax Coordinator to close any inactive accounts.
  • Corporate Tax Department Coordination: Coordinate with the Corporate Tax Department when opening new local and state tax accounts.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelors degree in business administration, accountancy, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of directly related and progressively responsible experience.
  • Payroll Tax Knowledge: Good understanding of payroll tax and payroll processing software programs, preferably ADP Enterprise.
  • General Ledger Accounting: Working knowledge of general ledger accounting.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Process Implementation: Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices.
  • Software Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
