Senior Accountant Job Description

At Jones Petroleum, Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions, including billing, collections, payables, payroll, and sales taxes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the weekly billing process and ensure timely payments
  • Support collections efforts by providing managers with regular reports and sending reminders to customers
  • Manage payables, reimbursable expenses, and credit card payments
  • Calculate and remit sales taxes
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements
  • Maintain fixed assets and depreciation entries
  • Prepare and review financial reports
  • Communicate effectively with the Controller on P&L status and bank reporting
  • Prepare audit schedules and complete other projects assigned by the Controller
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of Peachtree/Sage and Microsoft Excel
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience required
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supervising others is a plus
  • CPA license preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting or standing up to 8 hours during a shift
  • Lifting up to 60 pounds
  • Continuous bilateral use of fingers and wrists

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000+ based on industry experience. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
