Position Overview:
We are seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves applying engineering principles and methodologies to deliver geotechnical and related services under the mentorship of seasoned engineers. Responsibilities may include conducting subsurface investigations, performing engineering analyses, developing design plans, and preparing reports for the services rendered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive guidance from senior engineers and project managers.
  • Utilize standard engineering methods and procedures to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Conduct field reconnaissance as directed.
  • Support drilling programs and conduct field logging for various projects.
  • Prepare laboratory test results and ensure adherence to proper lab protocols for documentation.
  • Assist in subsurface investigations, including borings and test pits.
  • Report on project budgets, record keeping, materials testing, and inspections to project managers or senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with engineers, drill crews, administrative staff, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  • Draft technical reports and correspondence.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of project reports.
  • Maintain accuracy in billing items related to projects.
  • Foster excellent client relations through prompt communication.
  • Provide insights on client needs to project managers.
  • Deliver exceptional client service in every interaction.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of E.I.T. is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
  • Familiarity with specialized analysis software for foundation and site assessment, such as APILE, ALLPILE, SLIDE, and SETTLE3, is preferred.
  • Experience in technical writing and project management within a collaborative team environment is ideal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening, including background checks and drug testing.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in varying temperatures.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
