Lead Softball Coach Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Head Softball Coach to join our team at Academy Camps. As a member of our senior staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive softball program that fosters the growth and development of our athletes.

About Academy Camps

Academy Camps is a premier sports camp experience offering 1- and 2-week sessions for boys and girls aged 10-15 interested in various sports, including softball. Our campers receive intensive training sessions with high-performance coaching staff, focusing on their physical, mental, and emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and implement a one-week and two-week softball program with coaching strategies designed to support athletes in achieving their goals
  • Mentor athletes to foster athletic, emotional, and social growth
  • Apply basic youth development principles in working with athletes and staff through communication, relationship development, respect for diversity, involvement, and empowerment of youth
  • Create an athlete evaluation process and form
  • Complete the athlete evaluation for every athlete upon completion of their session
  • Support in the recruiting process to identify and hire your ideal coaching team
  • Manage and mentor coaches by providing responsibilities, regular feedback, and end-of-session evaluations
  • Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure safe playing conditions
Requirements
  • 6+ years of coaching experience, required; certifications preferred
  • Proven track record of program development and management
  • Holistic approach to coaching, willingness to develop the whole athlete physically, mentally, and emotionally
  • Excellent relationship builder, quick to connect, build trust, and rapport
  • Goal-oriented coach, motivated to support athletes in achieving their goals
  • Creative problem-solver, ability to identify issues and implement solutions
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package commensurate with skills and experience: $10,000 - $13,000 for a full summer commitment (includes room and board)
