We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to join our Commercial Real Estate division. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our portfolio of properties.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial properties.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Perform month-end close procedures, including account reconciliations and analysis of financial statement accounts.
- Manage and maintain the General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reflected.
- Handle CAM Reconciliations and tenant billings, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Oversee lease accounting, including calculation of rent escalations and tenant reimbursements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
- Continually improve systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably within the commercial real estate sector.
- Extensive experience with financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, General Ledger, CAM Reconciliations, and lease accounting.
- Proficiency in using property management accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately compile and interpret financial data.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
