Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Neighbors Emergency Center. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. You will work closely with our ER Physician and Radiologist to ensure accurate and timely imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position patients and examining tables to obtain optimal views of the specified area of the body.
  • Practice radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Administer and consent patients for contrast procedures, including IV and oral contrast.
  • Fill out necessary paperwork and ensure proper documentation in patient charts.
  • Maintain awareness of departmental and operational policies of NEC.
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment, including cleaning and QA procedures.
  • Explain procedures and exams to patients, including benefits and risks.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including contrast and IV placements.
  • Facilitate departmental operations through completion of necessary forms and documentation.
  • Maintain safety precautions to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Maintain current knowledge of diagnostic radiology and CT procedures.
  • Possess basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology to apply principles of radiology and methods of exposure.
  • Possess basic knowledge of radiology and CT equipment functioning to provide minor repair and trouble-shooting.
  • Proficient in the utilization of all radiological and lab equipment of the ER.
  • Utilize appropriate body mechanics to prevent injury to patients and self.
  • Apply principles of radiology safety in performance of position responsibilities.
  • Maintain awareness of own limitations and seek guidance from appropriate personnel when needed.
  • Ensure that problems/concerns regarding activities in the department are communicated with appropriate personnel.
  • Provide safe transportation of patients to and from the patient care unit.
  • Maintain awareness of all departmental and operational policies of NEC.
  • Able to perform moderate and waived testing per Clinical Laboratory's and according to patient care unit's policies and procedures.
  • Able to interpret the results of moderate and waived tests and take appropriate action on test results.
  • Maintain and use all instruments in the Clinical Laboratory safely and correctly.
  • Responsible for ensuring company-wide compliance with state and federal Clinical Laboratory rules and regulations.
  • Perform quality control procedures and maintain records on these checks.
  • Perform calibrations in compliance with manufacturer's requirements.
  • Ensures proficiency testing specimens are done in compliance with policy.
  • Oversees documentation of temperatures/humidity checks.
  • Monitors appropriate send-out lab procedures.
  • Maintains current appropriate and needed policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of new testing methods, products, and instrumentation; remain informed on all current technologies.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and submit orders for restocking as needed.
  • Demonstrate the values to team concept on a consistent basis.
  • Interact professionally with all department members, physicians, staff, administration, and the Director of Clinical Laboratory.
  • Responsible for documenting correct information for compliance purposes.
  • Remain knowledgeable about appropriate testing procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • At least 1 year of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current State licensure.
  • Current BCLS Certification.
Language, Mathematical, And/OR Reasoning Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
