Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain accurate receipt records, prepare deposits, and manage the check-release register.
  2. Conduct audits of receipts and disbursements to ensure precision for public events and address any credit card chargebacks.
  3. Prepare and input daily sales data.
  4. Complete designated sections of the monthly closing process by the established deadlines.
  5. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and monthly reconciliations of agency fund cash accounts along with select operational tasks.
  6. Organize files and perform various minor bookkeeping and cashiering responsibilities.
  7. Support the preparation of public show financial statements and city amusement tax submissions.
  8. Maintain regular communication with the Director of Finance regarding project statuses, workload, and departmental concerns.
  9. Assist in preparing audit schedules.
  10. Timely preparation of daily cash reports.
  11. Monthly reconciliation of major accounts.
  12. Input journal entries into the financial reporting system.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in accounting.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with EBMS and Solomon is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to create original or adjusting entries to analyze financial transactions.
  • Capability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions effectively.
