Supervisory Research Veterinary Medical Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Research Veterinary Medical Officer to join our team at the Department of Agriculture. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for leading and conducting research on viral and bacterial diseases of swine and prion diseases of ruminants, wildlife, and other species.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and conduct independent research on viral and bacterial diseases of swine and prion diseases of ruminants, wildlife, and other species.
- Publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Present research findings at scientific conferences.
- Supervise staff to accomplish research objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with commodity groups or other stakeholders.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- At least 1 year of specialized experience in research related to viral or bacterial diseases of swine or prion diseases of ruminants, wildlife, and other species.
- Experience in supervising staff and developing and maintaining relationships with commodity groups or other stakeholders.
This position is designated as Non-Sensitive Public Trust/Moderate Risk (Tier 2) and requires the selectee to undergo a pre-employment check and full background investigation.
