The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is offering a residency program in veterinary ophthalmology. This three-year training program is designed to prepare residents for board certification by the American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology.
The residency program is a comprehensive training experience that includes clinical rounds, seminars, journal club, image review, surgical practice, continuing education programs, and various departmental academic programs. Residents will work closely with experienced ophthalmology faculty members and will have the opportunity to participate in a concurrent Master of Science program.
The program is supported by a team of experienced ophthalmology technicians and board-certified specialists in various fields. Residents will participate in clinical rounds, seminars, and other academic programs, and will have the opportunity to present their research at national and international conferences.
The residency program is approved by the American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology and is designed to provide residents with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist.
Responsibilities- Participate in clinical rounds and seminars
- Conduct image review and surgical practice
- Participate in continuing education programs
- Contribute to departmental academic programs
- Present research at national and international conferences
- DVM or equivalent degree
- One year internship or equivalent clinical experience
- Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy
- Licensure by the State of Iowa Board of Veterinary Medicine
