Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Desktop Engineer to join our team at firstPRO, Inc. as a Desktop Infrastructure Specialist. This role requires strong interpersonal skills to handle virtual site visits, manage remote printer installations, and oversee auditing processes.

This is a 12-month consulting assignment with a hybrid work model based out of Camden, NJ. The ideal candidate will be proactive in managing virtual site interactions, overseeing printer transitions, and ensuring reports are reviewed and actioned appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quarterly virtual site visits for training centers and zones (approx. 20 sites).
  • Participate in calls during the initial onboarding period and lead discussions on key topics.
  • Ensure follow-ups and checklist reviews are completed post-site calls.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and coordination with site contacts.
  • Oversee the transition from Xerox to HP printers across zones and training centers.
  • Manage the virtual installation process in collaboration with HP on-site.
  • Use HP's Security Manager Suite to monitor the process remotely and ensure proper communication with site contacts.
  • Audit and review 15 reports from SCCM and ServiceNow, including security scans (e.g., Carbon Black to MS Defender transitions).
  • Ensure desktop teams are addressing any security or installation discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with desktop support teams to resolve outstanding issues highlighted in the reports.

Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with virtual site management and remote printer installations preferred.
  • Familiarity with printer tools such as Web Jetadmin, SCCM, ServiceNow, and security monitoring applications like Carbon Black or MS Defender.
  • Ability to handle technical troubleshooting and auditing processes efficiently.
  • Nice to have: Experience with large multifunction printers and remote printer management.
  • Adaptability in presenting technical information to various levels of stakeholders.
  • Excellent follow-up and written communication abilities.
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills, especially in virtual environments.
  • Familiarity with auditing and managing security applications.
