Position Title: Lounge Bartender

Overview:

The Lounge Bartender is responsible for efficiently taking orders, preparing, and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with light meals to guests, in accordance with the standards set by Crestline Hotels & Resorts. This role also involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area and ensuring that all supplies are adequately stocked.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  2. Possess comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, including liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic options available in the lounge.
  3. Understand the characteristics and descriptions of wines and champagnes offered by the glass, as well as the major selections on the wine list.
  4. Be familiar with the appropriate glassware and garnishes for each beverage.
  5. Adhere strictly to state liquor regulations, particularly those regarding service to minors and intoxicated individuals.
  6. Maintain awareness of table and seat numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, operational hours, menus, pricing, and dress code of the lounge.
  7. Manage the assigned cash bank securely and accurately.
  8. Utilize the Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system effectively and maintain knowledge of manual processes.
  9. Complete opening side duties, including stocking supplies and preparing the bar area for service.
  10. Inspect the cleanliness and condition of the service area and address any issues promptly.
  11. Greet guests warmly and take their food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  12. Input orders into the system and ensure they are accurately transmitted to the kitchen or bar staff.
  13. Document orders clearly when the system is unavailable and ensure proper communication with the bar team.
  14. Provide exceptional service for designated beverages, including wine and champagne.
  15. Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, adhering to proper telephone etiquette.
  16. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and service areas throughout the shift.
  17. Process guest checks and payments in accordance with cash handling policies.
  18. Extend courteous farewells to guests and invite them to return.
  19. Clean and reset tables promptly after guests depart.
  20. Communicate last call to guests at the appropriate time.
  21. Report tips accurately at the end of each shift.
  22. Use cleaning chemicals in compliance with OSHA regulations and hotel standards.
  23. Complete closing side duties, ensuring all reusable goods are stored properly and the work area is cleaned.
  24. Document maintenance needs and submit requests to management.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role is preferred. Strong understanding of the English language is essential. Knowledge of drink recipes and beverage service standards is necessary. Certifications in liquor, wine, and food service, as well as in alcohol awareness and CPR, are advantageous. Proficiency in using property management systems and point of sale systems is required. Previous training in guest relations is beneficial.
