About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at Carhartt. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the monthly inventory close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of various inventory account reconciliations.
  • Work closely with the FP&A, DC, and Retail Operations teams to maintain general ledger accounts for all inventory activities.
  • Reconcile the 4-wall WM inventory management system to the SAP general ledger, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare inventory reserve analysis, including obsolete inventory, shrinkage, and LIFO reserves.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts, ensuring complete and accurate counts that meet audit requirements and GAAP standards.
  • Post monthly journal entries, including recurring entries, accruals, re-classes, and other postings as needed.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for the month-end close, annual corporate financial audit, and benefit plan audits.
  • Assist with the coordination of the annual corporate financial statement audit.
  • Conduct accounting research, compiling data, preparing schedules, and summarizing findings as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze various financial calculations and schedules.
  • Document processes and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel, intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and accounting research skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail.
Working Conditions
