Position Overview:

The Arizona Official Website of State of Arizona is in search of a proficient and committed Facilities Operations Engineer. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency, upkeep, and repair of state-managed facilities. The Facilities Operations Engineer will manage maintenance requests and perform routine repairs, collaborating closely with the Senior Facilities Engineer on more intricate assignments. This role requires the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to contractors as necessary, along with flexibility to work during weekends, holidays, and after-hours when required.

Key responsibilities encompass executing both corrective and preventive maintenance to prolong the lifespan of facility equipment, alongside possessing a thorough understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, general maintenance, and HVAC systems.

Core Responsibilities: Diagnoses, maintains, inspects, modifies, and repairs facility systems, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, fire alarm systems, fire sprinklers, automatic doors, flooring, drywall, lighting, emergency systems, door hardware, and elevators. Conducts routine preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, which includes lubrication, adjustments, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts, and periodic equipment testing. Employs a computerized maintenance management system in real-time for new requests, parts orders, updates, and completion records. Engages with clients from the initiation to the conclusion of each work order. Coordinates with contractors to schedule, assist, and ensure timely completion of contracted projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems. Preventative maintenance and work order management software. Current construction principles, methods, and techniques. OSHA regulations and safety standards. Local, state, and federal compliance guidelines.

Skills in:

Exceptional customer service and communication abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Ability to read and understand building codes.

Ability to:

Deliver excellent customer service and maintain effective communication. Collaborate effectively within team structures. Work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrate self-motivation and confidence in achieving successful outcomes. Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of five years of experience in building operations engineering, particularly in electrical systems. Pre-Employment Requirements: Certification for refrigerant recovery (EPA Universal Certification). Valid driver's license. Background and reference checks, including criminal records verification.
