Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Chemist to join our team. As a Quality Control Chemist, you will be responsible for performing quality control analyses to verify the quality of manufactured polymers and raw materials. You will also be responsible for maintaining accuracy of analytical equipment, restocking laboratory supplies, and managing chemicals and waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control analyses to verify the quality of manufactured polymers and raw materials in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to perform laboratory calculations to adjust finished and in-process product characteristics within the required specification range.
  • Record quality data and any adjustment activities accurately and completely in both written and electronic formats.
  • Participate in investigation of non-conforming product and communicate required quality results and observations to Process Chemists and Operations Department.
  • Participate in daily Production meeting and weekly Safety meeting.
  • Maintain safety and order of work area through daily housekeeping and weekly inspection activities.
  • Manage all chemicals and waste (hazardous and nonhazardous) in accordance with RCRA regulation and the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related fields.
  • Previous laboratory experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Enjoys laboratory work and has good practical laboratory skills.
  • High performance team player in a busy work environment.
  • Sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Flexible and proactive.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Skilled in time management, multi-tasking, planning, and communication.
  • Open to further self-development.
Physical Work Environment and Requirements
  • Standing and sitting in a laboratory environment; dexterity and hand eye coordination to perform key testing steps; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
