Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician I to join our team at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy draws, collecting and processing laboratory specimens, and providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens for testing and analysis
  • Perform phlebotomy draws on patients, ensuring accurate and efficient collection of blood samples
  • Label and prepare specimens for transportation to the laboratory
  • Respond to patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service
  • Order and receive laboratory supplies, maintaining a clean and organized workspace
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn laboratory software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
