Job Title: Senior Transportation Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead our transportation design projects for clients such as NCDOT and municipalities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NC roadway design engineering and the ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines, including roadway drainage, structures, and survey.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a staff of 2 to 6 design engineers and coordinate with various disciplines, both internal and external to WGI.
  • Manage/develop engineering designs, including geometric alignments, profiles, cross sections, construction, and maintenance of traffic details.
  • Create engineering documents, including Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Reports, and Variation/Exception Reports.
  • Coordinate with WGI's clients and team members, prepare meeting notes, prepare invoices, and progress reports to support his or her projects.
  • Perform quality control reviews and prepare/oversee construction quantity estimates.
  • Cross-train in other transportation disciplines, including drainage, signing and pavement marking, signalization and maintenance of traffic.
  • Develop plans, calculations and specifications amongst multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Pursue additional work from existing and new WGI clients and be responsible for meeting with clients, preparing pursuit materials and coordinating with required discipline leads.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college, Master's Degree is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated 15+ years in progressively responsible experience.
  • NC Professional Engineering Registration.
  • Highway design lead experience preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
