Energy Efficiency Lead Technician

At PosiGen, we are committed to making Solar For All a reality. We are seeking an experienced Energy Efficiency Lead Technician to join our team and help us achieve our mission of providing money-saving solar energy and energy efficiency solutions for people of all income levels.

The Energy Efficiency Lead Technician will play a critical role in our mission by providing energy efficiency solutions to our customers and guiding technicians in assisting with providing solutions. This includes conducting physical site assessments using a variety of equipment and tools, installing energy-efficient upgrades in single-family residential projects, and preparing documentation of energy efficiency upgrades for upload to our shared database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install energy-efficient upgrades in single-family residential projects, including insulation, pipe insulation, plumbing fixture aerators, duct sealing, air sealing, compact fluorescent light bulbs, and thermostat replacement.
  • Prepare documentation of energy efficiency upgrades for upload to our shared database and communicate results to homeowners, supervisors, and EE contractors.
  • Analyze failures and take corrective action on an as-needed basis based on findings and severity of quality infringements. Provide guidance to improve technician performance.
  • Accomplish energy efficiency results by providing services according to best practices.
  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyze and resolve quality and customer service problems; identify trends; recommend system improvements.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of energy efficiency.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to better serve customers through the delivery of energy efficiency work.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Experience in residential construction and/or maintenance industry preferred.
  • Proficient with computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • BPI Building Analyst - technician, Building Analyst - professional certification and BPI Infiltration and Duct Leakage Certification required.
  • Availability to work some Saturdays.
  • Ability to lift thirty-five pounds (35lbs), work at heights and on ladders; and the physical ability to work in tight areas, hot attics, crawl spaces, hatch doors, etc.
  • Ability to work with fiberglass, cellulose, foam, mastic, and caulk in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work clean and clean-up after completing each job.
  • Assists the Energy Efficiency Crew Leader in completing test out of the home after work is complete.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
