Job Summary

Manson Construction Co. is a leading provider of marine construction services, and we are seeking a highly skilled Structural Steel Design Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop specifications for assigned tasks
  • Adapt to company drawing procedures, standards, and revision controls
  • Develop finished CAD drawings suitable for fabrication use
  • Develop scope of work and project plans for marine construction equipment with support from senior engineering staff
  • Produce final sets of design calculations showing applicable reasoning and methodology with support from senior engineering staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering, or Naval Architecture
  • Marine equipment experience, especially in design, repair, or fabrication in a marine/heavy construction industry
  • Experience with reading and creating shop drawings in 2D AutoCAD, and 3D modeling using Solidworks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
  • Experience with design, repair, or construction of lifting apparatus such as cranes or below the hook lifting devices, winches, and mechanical drive systems
Work Environment

  • Approximately 10-15% travel required to job sites or Manson yards
  • Position is primarily an office position, performs work at a desk
