We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Lead to join our Clinical Team as a Nursing Department Manager. This is a key leadership role that requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and direct a team of nursing professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Director of Nursing Services with all functions of the nursing department and assume responsibility when the Director is unavailable.
- Oversight, monitoring, and initiation of physician orders, verification of accurate transcription in electronic records, and administration of medications and treatments according to orders.
- Establish protocols to ensure care plans are continually reviewed for updated and accurate data representing the individuality of residents.
- Monitoring and counseling with nursing team members on the administration of treatments, proper documentation of status, and observation reactions to medications and treatments.
- Direct team members and create 'at risk' assessments.
- Facilitate communication with families regarding changes in medications and/or changes in residents.
- Ensure correct staffing levels according to standard operating procedures and develop, direct, and monitor nursing and nursing assistant assignments adjusting based on census and level of care required.
- Degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Two years of nursing experience in a long care facility preferred.
