Receptionist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Receptionist to join our team at PDS Health. As a Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience from the moment they arrive at our office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Model Company Culture: Demonstrate a warm and approachable demeanor to create a positive impression on patients and guests.
  • Support Patient Experience: Help patients feel comfortable during their visit by ensuring they are informed and supported throughout the process.
  • Schedule Appointments: Coordinate appointments to ensure a smooth and productive day for healthcare providers.
  • Communicate Effectively: Interact with patients and guests in a friendly and professional manner, responding to their needs and concerns.
  • Manage Front Office Tasks: Complete daily tasks on the front office checklist, including posting payments and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Develop expertise in our practice management system, ensuring patient registration, e-check in, and account information are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Confirm Appointments: Verify patient appointments in accordance with office confirmation policies or a minimum of 2 days in advance.
  • Resolve Patient Messages: Respond to patient messages received from the Contact Center in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Team Meetings: Engage in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Coursework or Training: Prior education or training in dentistry, insurance, or business.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Office Practices: Knowledge of office procedures, technology applications, and patient insurances.
  • Results-Oriented: Ability to set realistic goals, meet commitments, and prioritize tasks to achieve results.
  • Patient Advocate: Flexibility, adaptability, empathy, and a passion for creating a positive patient experience.
  • Process Focused Operator: Data-driven decision-making, attention to detail, and proficiency in computer systems.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of profit drivers, metrics, and local market drivers.
  • Influencer: Active listening, observation, and creation of win-win solutions.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing tasks and time effectively.
  • Excellent Communication: Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain extreme confidentiality with patient records.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining organization and attention to detail.
