Job Title: Counselor

Westhab is seeking a Counselor to join our team in the COMPASS-SONYC Program. As a Counselor, you will be responsible for delivering a range of academic, enrichment, recreational, and leadership development programming to participating youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of participating youth throughout program hours.
  • Provide academic instruction that supports the school day curriculum of participating youth.
  • Lead enrichment, recreation, and leadership development programs to increase self-esteem and teach important life skills.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and other assigned meetings to market the program and report on outcomes.
  • Prepare lesson plans for assigned areas and ages.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of experience in direct afterschool program delivery.
  • College diploma preferred.
  • High energy, dynamic personality, and genuine passion for youth.
