Key Responsibilities- Follow up with insurance companies regarding patient accounts, ensuring prompt payment and resolution of any discrepancies.
- Review and correct remittance advises, explanation of benefits, and other correspondence from insurance companies.
- Collaborate with patients and their families to resolve account-related issues and provide clear explanations of billing and insurance processes.
- Utilize computer systems and software to manage patient accounts, track payments, and maintain accurate records.
- Work effectively under stress and maintain a high level of emotional maturity to ensure excellent customer service.
- High school graduate or equivalent required; some college or technical training preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital or medical facility setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Windows-based systems, spreadsheet, and word processing applications.
