Job Description

As an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Professional Engineer License, you will be an integral member of our design team. You will work on a variety of projects, including data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects.

This role requires collaboration amongst MEI staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive projects forward throughout design and construction phases.
  • Design mechanical and plumbing systems for data centers.
  • Oversee the production of all mechanical designs, systems, and drawings.
  • Work with a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
  • Select major equipment and schedule its installation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 7 years of Professional Mechanical Engineering design experience designing mechanical systems for data centers or other mission-critical projects.
  • A valid Mechanical P.E. license and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience working independently, managing priorities, and providing mentorship to junior staff.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical systems and energy codes.
  • The ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives.
  • Self-motivation, comfort with ambiguity, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Top-notch organization, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.
