Responsibilities- Assist healthcare providers with obtaining vital information, preparing patients for examinations, and performing minor surgical procedures.
- Demonstrate competence in clinical skills and take responsibility for tracking follow-up appointments, laboratory tests, and procedures.
- Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services as requested by healthcare providers.
- Complete appropriate forms and requisitions for referrals or lab testing, including CPT/ICD-10 coding.
- Provide information to regulatory agencies and maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety, and Risk Management guidelines.
- Monitor environmental conditions to secure protected health information and maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Clinic Administrator to facilitate smooth and effective office operations.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
- High school diploma required if work is performed in a complex CLIA lab.
- Current CMA certification from AAMA, NCCT, AMT, or NHA.
- Mandatory Reporter certification.
- CPR certification.
- Meets educational/competency requirements per policy.
- Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
- Computer data entry experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Able to write, read, comprehend, and speak fluent English.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
