About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer II to join our team at Southland Industries. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative building systems solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex calculations for projects, including heating and cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, and friction loss calculations.
  • Prepare preliminary redline design layouts for estimating purposes.
  • May be responsible for a single phase of a project.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Ensure code compliance and review applicable codes and criteria to support design of projects.
Requirements
  • Four-year degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Five years of experience in a related field.
  • PE License preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable systems design, such as HVAC, plumbing, etc.
  • Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Revit, CADD, and Microsoft Office products.
