Executive Associate Dean

The Executive Associate Dean serves as the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the operational functions that enable the execution of the strategic plan and achievement of the school's goals and mission. This role is a member of the Dean's senior leadership team and is responsible for the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the organization by being responsible for the development, design, operation, and improvement of the systems that will lead to the full execution of the strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities:- Serves as a direct liaison between the academic and administrative functions of the SON by identifying the resources required for implementation of the strategic plan and potential obstacles that need to be addressed.
- Cascades the school's mission statement throughout the school for maximal alignment and develops appropriate recognition and coaching practices to align personnel with school goals.
- Ensures SON policies and practices are established and implemented and are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and University policies and procedures.
- Facilitates the operational activities of the Associate Deans for Prelicense/Baccalaureate programs, Graduate Clinical programs, PhD program, and the Associate Deans for Practice and Community Engagement, Research and Health Policy & Population Science.
- An earned doctoral degree in nursing or a health-related field.
- Prior academic administrative experience with evidence of increasing administrative responsibility.
- Prior organizational and/or program planning experience.
- Prior experiences with organizational strategic planning and implementation.
- At least five years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Experience with curriculum development and revision.
- Experience with accreditation self-study and preparation of reports for boards of Nursing, accreditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Evidence of ability to advance diversity, equity and inclusion efforts through teaching, research/scholarship and/or service.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Eligibility for RN licensure in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
