Anesthesia Perioperative Services Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Anesthesia Perioperative Services team on a PRN basis. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients, documenting delivery of care in medical records.
- Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems or potential problems.
- Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician.
- Assist physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.
- Order, schedule, and/or perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
- Communicate with patients regarding scheduled procedures, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects.
- Collaborate with physician to arrange consultations with or referrals to other medical professionals or community services.
- Educate patients on health habits, self-examinations, behavior management, need for follow-up assessments/treatments, at-home medical care, medication, and other issues related to medical or health problems.
- Work with manager to formulate plan for professional development and attend educational in-services as appropriate.
- Maintain and update current, accurate patient records, including medical assessment, interventions, and evaluations.
- Collect and interpret diagnostic data to implement appropriate care patient care plans.
- Prepare statistical reports and analyses of research projects and investigational protocols.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner (ACNP, AGACNP, or FNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or certified as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Licensed as appropriate in the State of Georgia.
- May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties.
- BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas.
