Job Summary

As a Radiology Practitioner Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality radiologic healthcare services under the direct supervision of a licensed physician. Your primary responsibility will be to provide primary patient care, determine normal from abnormal imaging examinations, and assess radiographic findings to determine if immediate radiologist interpretation is needed.

This position requires a strong understanding of radiologic principles, procedures, and protocols. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides primary patient care and determines normal from abnormal imaging examinations
  • Assesses radiographic findings to determine if immediate radiologist interpretation is needed
  • Works under direct physician supervision to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient care
  • Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to medications, procedures, infection prevention, and fall prevention
  • Reports safety hazards, accidents, and incidents promptly
  • Performs selected fluoroscopic procedures, static and dynamic, evaluates imaging procedures to determine normal from abnormal, and provides the radiologist with a technical report
  • Administers intravenous medications and contrast media under the supervision of a licensed physician
  • Gathers pertinent information from patients regarding health status and medical history as it relates to the diagnostic process
  • Analyzes medical image findings throughout the procedure to provide a comprehensive examination and obtain sufficient data for the physician to provide appropriate patient management and render a final diagnosis
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences from an educational program recognized by the Board of Directors of the Certification Board of Radiology Practitioner Assistants (CBRPA)
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Radiology Practitioner Assistant Certificate from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Credentialed to provide primary radiology healthcare with physician supervision
