Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Janitor to join our team at Didlake, Inc. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals with significant disabilities, enabling them to develop work skills and enhance their ability to communicate with customers in a workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Operate powered cleaning equipment, including brooms, mops, and scrubbing machines.
  • Polish metalwork, including fixtures and fittings.
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets and replenishes bathroom and floor supplies.
  • Assign tasks and issue supplies and equipment to employees, inspecting completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment from supervisors or management.
  • Train employees on assigned work and equipment usage.
  • Address employee and customer complaints, referring to supervisors as necessary.
  • May fill in for general cleaning staff as needed.
  • Operate power equipment, including two-stage snow blowers, during inclement weather.
Requirements
  • Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities.
  • Some knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment.
  • High initiative, adaptability, flexibility, and a positive team member attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
