Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Technical Designer to join our growing Kids Division, working on exciting new licenses and brands such as Under Armour, Billabong, Roxy, and Quiksilver.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Participate in style and fit approval process with cross-functional partners to meet all deadlines and address issues for resolution with technical designers and fashion designers.
  2. Work closely with the Technical Design Manager to create accurate initial specs and determine proper fit and construction.
  3. Measure and prepare all samples for fit sessions.
  4. Participate in fit sessions, taking accurate notes during the session, and make appropriate recommendations for fit and construction issues.
  5. Adhere to established fit, construction, and safety standards by producing accurate specification packages including sketch details, base size specifications, grading, and construction.
  6. Communicate development and fit information to overseas vendors through written reports, sketches, and/or pattern corrections.
  7. Review and comment on digital reports from overseas Technical Design team.
  8. Field issues from proto through production.
  9. Support technical design workload by creating fit schedules and maintaining tracking logs and measurement records.
  10. Participate in 3D initiatives.
  11. Support additional technical design projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements
  1. Must possess strong knowledge of garment construction, fit standards, understanding of patternmaking, grade rules, and key fabrications.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of Child Safety guidelines.
  3. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  4. Must possess good time management and organizational skills.
  5. Must possess the ability to follow through with task completion.
  6. Ability to multi-task.
  7. Superior organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience

Minimum 3+ yrs Technical Design experience in children's apparel required. Apparel related Associates or Bachelor's degree from a Fashion School preferred. Experience working with overseas vendors.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Illustrator. Experience with Flex PLM. 3D Browzwear / V-stitcher a plus.

Salary Range: $62,400 - $65,000
