Project Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Maintain contracts with trade partners, overseeing subcontract administration, and ensuring timely progress.
  • Participate in change management, assessing cost and schedule impact, and reviewing change orders.
  • Manage project document control, including RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals, ensuring compliance with scope and design documentation.
  • Collaborate with the project team lead to supervise design, responding to submittal schedules, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Review trade partners' submittals for compliance with scope and design documentation, forwarding them to design for review.
  • Coordinate with the project manager and superintendent to manage project performance, including site HSE, cost management, schedule, and quality.
  • Prepare and supervise progress claims and estimates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, expediting material orders as needed.
  • Assist with site inspections to resolve constructability and site coordination issues, reviewing and signing off on functionality, AHJ requirements, and code compliance.
  • Participate in project closeout, including document archival, maintenance, and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of construction experience in an operational role, preferably in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in a related subject area or equivalent experience.
  • Verified understanding of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, project HSE, quality, building materials, and required standards.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and delegate simple tasks.
  • Ability to build a comprehensive schedule and coordinate subcontracts and contract documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems, with a strong ability to adapt to new technology.
