The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical theory, motor components, and mechanical aptitude. They will be able to operate a variety of repair/testing equipment, gather data, and perform basic winding redesigns without instruction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Following relevant work instructions and customer standards
  • Operating a variety of repair/testing equipment
  • Gathering data, cleaning/repairing damaged iron, and getting the insulation ready
  • Capable of rewinding A/C or DC machines, including wound rotors and armatures
  • Performing basic winding redesigns without instruction
  • Assisting with dismantling and/or stripping of damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment
  • Knowledgeable of relevant work instructions and job cards
  • Accurately recording time on jobs and documenting critical information
  • Operating Fork Trucks (certified); Quality System/Safety Policy trained
  • Observing all safety procedures and using proper protective gear
  • Lifting, tightening, adjusting, and/or securing heavy objects to perform work duties
  • Keeping work area neat and clean
  • Assuring that all completed work meets Energy Management Corporation's Quality System requirements
  • Capable of teaching less experienced personnel to become proficient winders

Qualifications include a high school diploma and two years of experience as an apprentice winder working under a class 'B' winder, or an additional five years of experience working under a class 'A' winder. Self-motivation, ability to foster good employee/employer relations, and intermediate mechanical aptitude are also essential.
