Quality Assurance Inspector

As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will be responsible for evaluating assembled components for defects and deviations from specifications. Your role will involve examining all assigned parts against engineering drawings and procedural documents to ensure compliance with quality standards. You will conduct tests on electrical components and measure them using various tools such as ohm meters, rulers, and micrometers. Any parts that do not meet the required standards will need to be either returned to the assembly team for correction or designated for disposal if they are beyond repair.
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of High School or equivalent GED.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in using basic hand tools (e.g., dremels, cutting tools) and measuring instruments (e.g., dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges).
- Familiarity with electrical testing methods (e.g., ohm meter, gauss meter, surge testing, hi-pot testing).
- Basic understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and process documentation, including knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Willingness to pass a visual acuity examination upon job offer.
- Capability to obtain certifications in Braze, Weld, and Solder inspection as necessary.
- This position is limited to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology.
- Utilize both manual and automated measurement and testing tools to ensure product quality.
- Identify and document non-conforming components, maintaining inspection records through the designated software.
- Inspect all incoming materials and components to verify adherence to design specifications.
- Apply statistical process control and quality control methodologies as required.
- Execute job duties in accordance with internal specifications and external regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues.
- Continuously seek to enhance product efficiency and quality.
- Provide cross-training to colleagues based on expertise.
- Accurately complete all necessary documentation for labor tracking.
- Report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep team members informed about operational challenges or setup issues.
- Collaborate with team members to address product deficiencies and process improvements.
- Participate in team initiatives and uphold GE Leadership principles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to consistently use hands and fingers in repetitive tasks.
- Capability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or maintain balance.
- Ability to sit for extended periods; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; push/pull up to 22 lbs.
Compensation for this role is competitive, with additional eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance metrics.
