BSA Analyst Job Description

At First County Bank, we're looking for a highly skilled BSA Analyst to join our team. As a BSA Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Bank's Anti-Money Laundering Program is compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor AML/BSA/OFAC activities daily, reviewing Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow up with Branch personnel for discrepancies between system-generated transactions, reports, documentation, and online monitoring systems.
  • Assist with maintenance of departmental procedures related to AML.
  • Investigate Alerts flagged in the Online AML Solution in coordination with the BSA Officer.
  • Conduct customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) assessments, updating the BSA Officer and team members accordingly.
  • Analyze account patterns and assist the AML/BSA Officer in preparation, research, and filing of Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Assist in the research and identification of new customers eligible for exemption, recommending possible exemptions to the BSA Officer as applicable.
  • Work with the BSA Officer to identify, research, and monitor MSB and high-risk accounts, assisting in the review of the Bank's online risk analysis and making recommendations to the BSA Officer.
  • Report any known deficiencies or irregularities pertaining to regulations to the appropriate level of supervision.
  • Respond quickly to questions, working across departmental lines, resolving or referring appropriately.
  • Maintain knowledge of current developments in banking, deposit operations, and legal/governmental regulations and trends through review of literature, participation in seminars, and continuing education programs.
  • Retain a general working knowledge of responsibilities of the AML/BSA for backup purposes.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in banking, audit, legal, or information technology environment with training in audit, computers, legal, operations, and banking regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering/BSA/OFAC/KYC and 314(a) and (b) required.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with an emphasis on accuracy; must have excellent analytical ability.
  • Must be proficient in reading extensive computer-generated reports and taking copious notes.
  • Superior verbal/written communication skills with all levels in the organization, in addition to vendors, regulators, and industry groups.
  • Must have a team mindset with a willingness to support a compliance program that is closely integrated with other business lines.
