Psychiatric Technician Trainee

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician Trainee to join our team at the Southwest Idaho Treatment Center (SWITC). As a Psychiatric Technician Trainee, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
About the Role:- Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily activities.
- Monitor and document clients' care, behavior, symptoms, and overall mental health status.
- Administer prescribed medications and observe, report, and document any side effects or concerns.
- Assist in implementing therapeutic treatment plans under the guidance of mental health professionals.
- Respond to and manage crises or challenging behaviors in a calm and controlled manner.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to provide comprehensive care.
- Provide education to clients on coping strategies, daily hygiene, and healthy eating habits.
- Some knowledge of personal hygiene and first aid, typically gained by at least two months of experience performing these functions or a willingness to learn them.
- Experience following written and oral instructions, typically gained by at least six months of experience.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Licensure.
