About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician Trainee to join our team at the Southwest Idaho Treatment Center (SWITC). As a member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to clients, including assistance with daily activities, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
  • Monitor and document clients' care, behavior, symptoms, and overall mental health status.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to implement therapeutic treatment plans and provide comprehensive care.
  • Respond to and manage crises or challenging behaviors in a calm and controlled manner.
  • Assist with client education, including coping strategies, daily hygiene, and healthy eating habits.
Requirements
  • Some knowledge of personal hygiene and first aid, typically gained by at least two months of experience performing these functions or a willingness to learn them.
  • Experience following written and oral instructions, typically gained by at least six months of experience.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure.
