About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician/Trainee to join our team at the Idaho Division of Human Resources. As a Psychiatric Technician/Trainee, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a therapeutic environment for patients, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Implement treatment plans and monitor the outcome of goals, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct therapeutic activities and co-facilitate group therapy sessions, focusing on skills training, psychosocial rehabilitation, and behavior management.
  • Interact with patients on a one-to-one basis and in group settings, encouraging appropriate behavior and providing input into developing and changing patient treatment plans.
  • Observe and record patients' vital signs, behavior, and interaction with others, providing valuable insights for treatment planning.
  • Foster increased patient self-esteem through teaching and role modeling, facilitating problem-solving, and recording observations of individual and group behavior.
Requirements
  • Some knowledge of personal hygiene and first aid, typically gained through at least two months of experience or a willingness to learn.
  • Experience following written and oral instructions, typically gained through at least six months of experience.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure.
